Faith is a journey. Sometimes that journey takes you to strange places or places that you never imagined you would visit. In the Christian tradition we are usually sent companions on our journey of faith, some are angels and some our friends, who support us and challenge us when appropriate. This website and Nancy’s books are the story of her faith journey.
Nancy is one of those people who come into your life and give you their heart and Nancy has a very big heart. Nancy is also a person with an inquisitive mind and strongly held opinions. Since I share these character traits Nancy and I occasionally have come into conflict, but our relationship shows that a mutual love of God can overcome petty disagreements.
I have read all of Nancy’s writings over the years that I have been here at St. Thomas More Newman Center. I do not agree with all of Nancy’s conclusions or views and some are outright contrary to the official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. This is not an endorsement of those views. What I have come to respect, love, appreciate and admire about Nancy and learn from her is her faith journey is the never ending desire to seek out God’s will in her life. So often Christians take faith for granted, Nancy does not. What I hope people appreciate about her personal story is the theological and spiritual curiosity that is so much a part of her life and that like her they will find God in all things. Whether it’s a dream, a vision, or a visit nothing is accidental in Nancy’s world, it all has meaning and significance. Perhaps we should all seek to live our lives the same way.
